Two Delta-5 Acynadi burst from the tunnel openings after failing to slip past unnoticed. Combat erupted immediately and grew more vicious when a third Delta-5 joined the fray. With the aid of the old Dregs who dwell in the depths, the Lord Captain’s agents managed to slay the creatures, though two of the Dregs were wounded in the process. Pressing on, the group continued deeper into the tunnels.

After some time, they reached a sonic barrier erected by the cult — a crude but dangerous weapon designed to keep the Acynadi away from the enclave. To bypass it, Vinz tore open a warp tunnel, allowing the agents to pass beyond the barrier. Even Alicia, despite her misgivings, forced herself to step through. The Dregs refused to follow and turned back.

Deeper within the tunnel system, the group reached a vestibule-like chamber. From beyond, they heard a woman’s voice softly singing a children’s song. Inside a large vaulted chamber — functioning as a grim waiting hall — they encountered a woman holding her infant child, waiting to be granted entry to the enclave in the hope of healing. She told them she had already been waiting for hours.

A massive double door stood before them, watched over by vid-augurs. Seeing no visible locks, Alicia bravely attempted to open the door. She was immediately struck by what appeared to be a warp-born smite, taking the blow to the head. By sheer fate, she survived unharmed, though one Fate Point was burned.

Combat erupted with the cultists beyond the door. It quickly became apparent that the enemy force was overwhelming. Acting decisively, the agents executed a tactical withdrawal, retreating moments later through another of Vinz’s warp portals, which carried them back to the Cargo-8 hauler maintenance bay and Zenyi.

Without delay, and still in the dead of night, the group resolved to seek aid from Venykar’s Sanctifiers. Alicia found Caul, the Sanctifiers’ leader, during nocturnal prayer within the Imperial chapel of the outpost. Through careful words and righteous conviction, she persuaded him to cooperate.

The plan was set: using another warp breach, they would assault the enclave with two forces. The Sanctifiers would claim Markis Sihn in the name of the Emperor. The agents would secure the Eye of Voll.
